There are 9 championship courses and country clubs in The Villages offering 225 holes with one course designed by Arnold Palmer and one by Nancy Lopez. The 24 executive courses offer 216 holes of golf that offer different levels of challenge.
There are many tennis courts located throughout The Villages recreation areas. In addition, you will find premium courts at the tennis center located at the Glenview Country Club area. These premium courts host many leagues and play based on ranked ability. Pickle Ball is one of the more popular sports in The Villages. Many courts are located in the recreation areas with organized leagues and play available. Pickle Ball is played with paddles and wiffle balls on courts much shorter than tennis courts.
Bowling has proven to be one of the more popular sports in The Villages and there are currently a total of 64 lanes of bowling housed in 2 modern buildings with a restaurant attached. The Villages has actively brought professional bowling tournaments to The Villages. You may have watched the roll offs of one of the professional tournament held on specially constructed outdoor alleys on the town square. Plenty of leagues, plenty of lanes and plenty of fun, no matter what your skill level.
If you have a driving desire to return to the softball diamond, this is where you belong. Various leagues exist for play at the three softball facilities located in The villages. You just may run into a member of your former team and renew an old acquaintance.
